While I was in Dubai a couple of years back I remember getting lost in the most amazing store...if you could even call it that. It had the most amazing window display that had nothing to do about anything apart from showing off some amazing talent. I tried to get pictures although they didn't allow cameras in the store so here is what I ended up with.

Inside there were haunting little trinkets with cob-webs lightly covering vintage ornamental skulls, giant playing card cookie boxes, delicate dress jewellery and porcelain dolls. Amongst the random items, I took a liking to the creep crawleys, I think as far back as I can remember I used to save drowning ladybirds out of our pool every summer.

Were in full fledged winter over on the West Coast and I'm feeling the cold! I need to toughen up because this will be nothing compared to the UK winter I will be experiencing in January!!

I love my expensive designer clothing and now and then I used treat myself although now I'm saving for a house its time to get my priorities right and that doesn't include buying luxury clothing :(

Last weekend the boy took me on a shopping spree for winter (sweet) and I found so many inexpensive pieces to mix and match the rest of my wardrobe with....I love my new Forever New jeans, they fit amazingly, I think they definitely beat my Bettina Lianos...

I love love love Kate Sylvester's new S/S 2010/11 collection. It's perfect transition wear that I could definitely imagine myself in! It's so girly and country, I love the play on textures and colours too.

The change of season is a bit of a nightmare for me, I crave comfort food and nothing is better than something sweet.

Below is Masterchef's recipe for Chocolate Fondat with Egg Nog.....yummmmm!

Ingredients

50g unsalted butter, extra for greasing moulds

2 tbs cocoa

50g dark chocolate, roughly chopped

1 egg
1 egg yolk

60g castor sugar

50g plain flour

Icing sugar for dusting

1 nutmeg, grated to serve

Boozy egg nog

1 vanilla bean, split

½ cup milk

1 ½ cups cream

6 egg yolks

70g castor sugar

30ml bourbon

30ml cognac

Method

1. Preheat oven to 160ºC. Lightly grease 2 dariole moulds and dust with cocoa powder.

2. Melt chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Stir until smooth. Remove from the heat, set aside to cool slightly.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until pale. Add melted chocolate and sifted flour to mixture, carefully fold to combine. Divide between prepared moulds, bake for 12-15 minutes.

4. For boozy egg nog, place the vanilla bean and scraped seeds in a saucepan with the milk and cream and heat until almost boiling. Remove from heat and set aside.

5. Whisk together the egg yolks, sugar, bourbon and cognac in a large bowl, then slowly whisk in the hot milk mixture. Pour the egg nog into a clean saucepan, and remove and discard the vanilla bean. Stir with a wooden spoon over very low heat until egg nog thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon.

6. Strain into a clean bowl, whisk over a bowl of ice until cool.

7. To serve, un-mould fondant into centre of plate, pour egg nog around, top with a small amount of grated nutmeg and sifted icing sugar.

Were moving into Winter and I've had to re-arrange the wardrobe to make space for...let's say larger items of clothing.

After being used to a 3.5m long wardrobe all to myself it's been a bit of a struggle sharing a standard 2 door wardrobe with the boy!

I've been collecting gorgeous statement skirts over summer to tee up with sexy stockings for the colder months. I'm loving lace, chiffon, velvet and simple but sexy patterns.

I know it's crazy and trust me I do love our summers but I always get so excited about the next season's fashions too soon!

Can't wait to slip on some spotted tights, a gorgeous body con dress and some super high wintery heels...I'm sure after a week of it I will be thinking about summer again...and so the cycle goes.

I was off work sick today and whilst browsing through my fav blogs and style pages I decided to take the plunge and cut my hair off...well not all the way off to some extreme bob but more a longish messy bob.

I'm super excited about it and think I may want to go even shorter soon, also want to put a few more blonde highlights since I cut all of my old ones off. I love Lara Bingle's "do" wish my hair was that thin for this style but I've tried my best with what I've got!

I'm quite looking forward to Valentine's Day...not only because it is the first of many for the boy and I but there are so many gorgeous things to buy for each other or maybe something for both of us.

This year for Christmas the boy got me a beautiful leather Saba bag...I'm super in love with it even more so because I haven't seen anyone sporting it yet.

Lately we've both found ourselves ducking into Saba stores while out shopping mostly for a quick look but half an hour later find ourselves lugging bags of goods back to the car. The VIP card gets you such a great discount so who could resist?

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I know it's super late and I've already broken one of my resolutions (tardiness)!

I'm hoping 2010 will be my lucky year, I've set some massive goals, one is saving....I've decided I'm only going to buy one pair of shoes per month. I hope to go to New Zealand on a skiing holiday and gather a fairly hefty house deposit.

For NYE I went to a great new club in Fremantle, the theme was along the lines of Moulin Rouge which blended fabulously with their decor! It's very classy with loads of lounges for resting those poor dancing feet, great cocktails too!

I had a fantastic weekend...well all apart from about 11pm on Friday night until about 11am the next day. Friday night I had one of those long time no see girlfriend catch-ups which is always a blast...all I'm going to say is...a tinsy bit too much red was consumed.

Saturday some girlfriends and I lazed on the beach for about 5 hours...got a bit burnt but hey it all turns into tan eventually :) Sunday we went out to Carnac Island on a 65 foot yacht...it was beautiful, I can't believe only an hour away from Perth there are so many amazing sights to see...felt like I was sailing around the Caribbean - I wish!!

I was re-organising my bedroom the other night and was astonished by all the cr*p I own. But then again, I love all of that cr*p so I decided to share it and show a few of my favourite things.

Like any normal lady I have an obsession with heels...that's my confession of the day!

Even if a pair of heels are impossible to wear but look good I'll still buy them and place them in my shoe-case to stare at and drool over..bit weird I know.

I had a close friend's 25th soiree on the weekend...it was quite elegant, New York themed with an abundance of canapes and sweet treats not to mention flowing champagne and the sinful tequilla (yuck - but you've got to do what the birthday girl tells you).

I left the outfit til a bit late and frantically shopped all Saturday morning trying to find a black maxi dress...and success I found my maxi for $70, its a great blank canvas to mix and match, add and detract accessories. I was that desperate to purchase this piece I settled for it being a loose fitting size 12 (I'm a size 8)...a belt comes in very handy!

My friend's mum baked these scrumptious cakes...I could of stuffed my face all night but stopped at 1 piece of each.

For my first post I thought I would track back to Parklife because I base the start of Summer around this festival. I think I bought my ticket 3 months or more in advance...its a bit ridiculous when you find yourself humming and harring about what to wear that early as well....it was the boy's first time at an Australian festival and he loved it I'm happy to say.

Lady Sov was the highlight for me, well her and the cute dress I found at a cheap asian store 2 streets up from me!
